After a long four-year wait, the highly anticipated return of the Pebble Beach Food & Wine Festival is on the horizon. This extraordinary epicurean extravaganza, known as Monterey County’s very own culinary mecca, will grace us once again from April 4 to 7 next year. Get ready for an unforgettable four-day journey filled with culinary masterpieces, wine tastings, and exclusive dining experiences at the luxurious Pebble Beach Resorts. Renowned chefs and sommeliers from far and wide will gather here, ensuring a truly remarkable event for food and wine enthusiasts.

In a recent press release, David Stivers, the Chief Executive Officer of the Pebble Beach Company, expressed his excitement about bringing back this iconic festival. He stated, “Pebble Beach has a longstanding tradition of hosting world-class events, and we are thrilled to continue that legacy with the return of the Pebble Beach Food and Wine Festival in April 2024. Some of the most innovative culinary minds in the country will converge at Pebble Beach, showcasing their talents to an eager audience of food and wine enthusiasts.”

A Memorable Journey

The Pebble Beach Food & Wine Festival made its debut in 2008, arising from the reimagination of the acclaimed Masters of Food & Wine festival. The predecessor enjoyed a successful 20-year run at the Highland’s Inn in Carmel, now known as Hyatt Carmel Highlands. The creative minds behind this remarkable transformation were David Bernahl and Rob Weakley, the dynamic duo who managed the event through their Monterey-based company, Coastal Luxury Management. Although their partnership dissolved in 2015 due to an unfortunate legal battle, Bernahl continued to oversee the Pebble Beach Food & Wine Festival until its twelfth and final pre-pandemic installment in 2019.

As the festival gears up for its grand comeback, the Pebble Beach Company is assuming control of operations. Aaron Flink, the Chief Strategic Officer of the company, stated in a recent call, “We have decided to bring the event in-house. Pebble Beach Company will be fully involved in operating and owning the event.” To assist with the festival’s relaunch in 2024, the Pebble Beach Company has partnered with a renowned marketing agency, a21. Based in Miami, Florida, a21 boasts an impressive portfolio that includes organizing culinary events and festivals across the country, such as the Atlanta Food & Wine Festival, Cochon555’s Heritage Fire Tour, and Whiskies of the World Tour.

An Unforgettable Experience Awaits

Brett Friedman, the CEO & Founder of a21, expressed his enthusiasm about the upcoming festival, stating, “We are incredibly privileged to collaborate with Pebble Beach Resorts, one of the world’s most exceptional properties, in reviving one of the most sought-after culinary events in the market. We are committed to delivering an extraordinary event on the grounds of Pebble Beach.”

With these exciting developments, one may wonder if there will be any noticeable changes to the festival experience. Aaron Flink responded, “While many beloved features of the festival will remain intact, we will also take a fresh perspective to ensure an unparalleled and unique culinary event in 2024.” He added, “We eagerly await the exceptional ideas and concepts that our team and a21 will bring to the table. Our goal is to attract both loyal past attendees and engage a new generation of festival-goers.”
